OCTOBER!

Tue Sep 1, 2009, 11:08 AM
It's around the corner...

But maybe I should explain first.
Hi, it's been a year since I've posted anything on dA. Sad, sad fact.
Anyways, in the time I've been gone, I've expanded my interest-horizon and worked on a cruise ship for four months.
I'm now a professional figure skater.
I haven't gone to college yet, haha.
Bills are piling up - for the moment.
&& I'm leaving the country in five weeks.

Hold the phone: YES. I AM LEAVING THE COUNTRY!
>>;

I, Lynn, ebon-abysm, EbonyEclair, Kristina, however you know me, will be saying SEEYALATER! to the US.
For a minimum of five months.
A few months ago, I was hired by Holiday on Ice, a skating production company in Hague, Netherlands. It's like Disney on Ice, but European and way bigger. In ways. ^^;

So, yah. I'll be in Hague for about six weeks and then I'll be touring the Netherlands for three months, then the UK for the remaining two.

Go me?

Anyways, that's all for now.
I'm getting over being sick currently.
Gawd.
Time flew by.
I need to get in shape...
So I'm off to buy something... work-out-ness-worthy.

  • Mood: Dumbfounded
  • Listening to: the news
  • Reading: manga
  • Watching: Haruhi Suzumiya season 2
  • Playing: Nothing
  • Eating: NOT EATING. XD
  • Drinking: Mocha frap.

Tinker... BLISS.

So... yah... random time!

For anyone that knows what I do [aka, ice skating!] thou shall be told of my fun-fun time this past Friday. Whoot for a second audition with Disney on Ice!!! YAY! I was sooo excited. I had to break in a pair of new boots [so stiff!] along with a pair of new blades [I have rockers now... but no balance ><; ] so it was a very interesting combination of excitement and anticipation and nerves when walking into the arena. I was thinking, "probably going to be more auditioners than last time." Last time? Only three peeps showed up, one of which was me. This time? Wait for it......... ME!

My response: EVIL LAUGHTER! ...in my head. XD

It was AWESOME. Totally loved the Production's Manager - HULLO MATT! - and LOVED that he was the one to run the try out... by throwing on his own skates! Whoot! Man it was fun. But really WARM. Who'd think a giant ice arena would be warm? Seriously, it was HOT... nasty sweating issues and everything. So annoying, but I didn't care till the end when it was time to leave. Anyways, enough of my sweating... >>;

So he asks me: Who's your favorite Disney character?
Me? I tell him: Depends. My favorite Disney PRINCESS is Belle. Character? Tinkerbell. YAY! Then, of all things, he has me put on a 10-15 second skit/impression of both of them! FUNNNN! It was, again, amaaazing. ^^ Hopefully, this time, I made a good impression... Enough to get hired... someday...

Oh, and as a random note, here is my final decision for cosplays:

Lavi - D.Gray-Man
Matt - Death Note
Kallen - Code Geass, season 1.
Kagami Hiiragi - Lucky Star

That's about it. Although, with my newest obsession - Soul Eater [watch it! <333] I might be planning a new cosplay idea for 2010!

I'm soooo tired right now. Gah. But, anyways, I really need to look up the meaning of "prioritizing" and "organizing." I really, really have to. That saying thing... "So much to do, so little time to do it in?" or however it goes? Applies to my life as it is currently. Hm... Bad thing? Good thing? I've been told it's good to keep busy, but when you're too busy to keep a hand on all you're doing, is it then considered a bad thing?

Ah... never mind. I like to ramble on and on, apparently, on things that most people don't care to hear about. Mainly, I like to think, because they either completely understand what I'm saying [because it applies to them to] or some other reason I don't wanna think up right now...

Things to do:

- Keep up with my Japanese class: I have a test Tuesday, and since we didn't get around to the one we had last Thursday, we get to do BOTH. Oh joy. Neh; how hard could writing hiragana be? o.O; Oh, and there's the katakana homework. Jeez.
- Bug Disney on Ice till I get a freakin' second audition come this October. This company [for ice skating, if one can't already interpret] takes MONTHS to respond when they're busy. Grrr. I wanna be Tinkerbell. >>; [//private, undying wish.]]
- Keep in contact with BietekProductions, another ice skating company. I might actually get a job with them, strangely enough. >>; YAY!
- Dump my Economics Macro class. It's NOT WORTH IT. The teacher doesn't TEACH for goodness sake! I wasted two weeks of my life in that class...
- Get my tire fixed. Brand new car, barely two months old, and guess what happens? It picks up a freakin' nail in one of the tires. GRRR. Gah. Bad luck, too many construction zones; that's SoCal for yah. XD
- Start/finish a few entries for a few contests here on DeviantArt. ;D
- Start on a fanfiction work I've had plotted out in my brain/on paper for MONTHS now. It's a Sesshoumaru x Kagome thing, but for once it's not AU or anything like that. Completely - or as close as I can manage it to be without owning the series, lawls - canon universe story. Starts off at the end of the manga and delves into the TRUE, REAL-LIFE, NON-FICTIONAL history of Japan during the Sengoku Jidia or Warring States period. Fun, ne? Lots of love there...
- Start writing my friggin' book idea. Doesn't every aspiring writer have one of those? XD I'm no exception, but it seems that /starting/ things lately takes a tremendous amount of effort. Does that have anything to do with me being a Gemini? O.O; Or am I just lazy? Gawdddd. Teehee~ Man.
- Pick up my new skates. To anyone who wants to become a figure skater, please let me make you aware of one little thing before you jump on the ice! It's EXPENSIVE! ;____; Oh, sadly, yes, very much so. My boots and blades, alone, cost me over a grand. And that's with getting a different type of blades that cost HALF of what they usually do. >>; I've been putting off getting them, although I've needed them for nearly a year now, which makes my skates almost three years old. That's OLLLDDDD.
- Get into shape. AGAIN! ><; Another sad fact: getting in shape is easy. Staying in shape, however, is HARD. XD Especially if you're not motivated, or believe that you don't have the time/energy to do so. It's easy to convince yourself that you'll do it tomorrow, or the next day, but then all of a sudden it's a week later and you stillll haven't worked out or practiced. Life just FLIES ON BY SOMETIMES [waves to time that could've been used more productively.]

...I think that's it. HAHAH.

New clubs I've joined, hurrahhurrah!:

Oh, dear lord, I'll never be able to choose.

So, let's see, so far I've decided on the following to cosplay as next year:

Sailor Venus
Integra F. W. Hellsing
And...
Well, let's leave it at that.
I don't want to get ahead of myself, now do I?
ANYWAYS, updating from my previous list, here's the people that still tempt me:

Lavi from D.Gray-Man*
Haruko from FLCL*
Misao from Rurouni Kenshin
Shuichi from Gravitation
[Matt from DN, again.]
Riza Hawkeye from Fullmetal, although, FMA seems a tad overdone nowadays. I haven't seen too many Riza's though...

Adding on to these, I've recently gotten into Naruto again. A bad thing? Please don't comment on this; I have a younger brother who loves it. ><; I'm skipping straight to the Shippuden, thanks to a few suggestions from a few random Naruto-fans. Of the people I've heard of, Sasori seems the sort of guy I'd want to cosplay as... not to mention I already have a wig that would go PERFECT with him. XD I have pictures up if anyone wants to see it. ^^

But, then again, Naruto is also a very popular anime and I don't wanna get involved with something just... overdone. Not really. And I'm not bashing Naruto or anything, but there really are a LOT of cosplayers for that series. XD [I saw some really really good ones at Comic-Con this year. O: Ohwaoow.]

OH! I nearly forgot, but I started watching this new anime called Code Geass [although I don't think it's really all that old.] Any thoughts? I like the red-head girl, Kallen, quite a lot. Her outfit's are adorable too! ^///^

Gawd, I'd love to do a Princess Tutu cosplay, now that I think about it. Not to mention there's my favorite wizard of all time, Fai D. Flowright. But, well, I'd make a terribly short Fai. XDDD -giggles at the thought.-

Okay, lovelies, please excuse my randomness and have a good night! Debate with me some time, yush? I'd love to hear about all the different Con's, since I've only ever been to Comic-Con. ><;

Ah... Konnichi wa! Watashi wa Kristina desu! Ano... Hajimemashite...?

I always wanted to learn Japanese, and this semester I've enrolled in a beginning Japanese language class. Needless to say, I'm very excited! The written part looks difficult, but I've found hirigana and katakana are both aesthetic and appealing to look at. I'll probably share some of my lessons in later journal updates, but for today I'll be focusing on a subject that is new and fun for me!

That being said, my first ever journal entry will be about cosplaying! Ohmai, nowai, right? XD My apologies if this isn't anything new to you, but I attended my first ever Con this past July. At nineteen, I suppose I could be considered a late-starter, but that's not a bad thing, I guess. My cosplays were quickly put together, so not all that wonderful, but I had tons of fun anyways!

So, for next year, I'm planning on anywhere between two to four different cosplays. A bit ambitions, I know, I know. But, it can't be helped! I'm interested in construction at least two of them by hand, as well. Hm... we shall see. ^^ Ah, right! My ideas, so far, consist of the following characters. I would appreciate any comments, ideas or suggestions, too, onegaishimasu!

Current Ideas:

Rikku from Final Fantasy X-2*
Lavi from D.Gray-Man*
Haruhara Haruka from FLCL*
Integra from Hellsing*
Shuichi from Gravitation
Haruhi/Honey from Ouran HSHC
Suzumiya Haruhi from TMoHS
Misao Makimachi from Rurouni Kenshin*
Mina Aino from Sailor Moon
Winry Rockbell from Fullmetal Alchemist

...As you can see, I have a lot of wants. XD My Economic Macro course is making me want to cut back on wants, but, well, I can dream big, right? XD
